DIVAGRI

Food security through multi-scalar project interventions

RESEARCH PROJECT

Revenue DIVersification pathways in Africa through bio-based and circular AGRIcultural innovations (DIVAGRI).

The DIVAGRI project aims to diversify the livelihoods of African subsistence and smallholder farmers by providing them with tools to improve farm productivity, profitability, and resilience.

They focus on co-designing and co-developing bio-based solutions with rural farming communities, testing and adapting these solutions in diverse contexts.

The DIVAGRI Sustainability Framework was designed to measure the long-term impact of project interventions under four fundamental sustainability goals: economic, environmental, governance, and social. To ensure meaningful data interpretation, the project distinguishes between farm-level and systems-level data.

Overall, DIVAGRI seeks to help farmers sustainably manage farming resources, diversify their outputs, and create high-value circular bioproducts to improve their economic well-being.

CoGo aims to adopt the methodology, methods and approaches of the DIVAGRI project to develop sustainability frameworks for future projects.
